Albemarle house extension for a young family with one child and one dog is an exciting endeavour. Our goal is to create a family-friendly home that maximizes space while considering their budget. By lifting up the post-war Queenslander house, we can expand the lower level to provide ample room for family activities.

A key aspect of our design is to seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor areas, capitalizing on the park view while carefully balancing privacy and public access.

The interior will feature an open floor plan, fostering family interaction and easy supervision. A spacious living area, dining room, and functional kitchen will be complemented by large sliding glass doors, leading to a covered patio, where the family can enjoy outdoor gatherings and the child can play.

We will strategically position windows to offer scenic views while maintaining privacy, employing techniques such as frosted glass or window treatments.

Moreover, we will incorporate family-friendly features such as a dedicated play area, a mudroom, and ample storage throughout. With a focus on cost-effective materials, energy efficiency, and the utilization of natural light, we aim to create a beautiful and functional extension that the family will truly cherish.
